ABOUT
ARTIST STATEMENT
My monsters begin with joy. You encounter them with colorful humor and a directness that needs no explanation. Time and again, people of all ages and backgrounds react similarly to my work: they smile. What happens after that first smile is personal. The monsters don’t dictate any specific characters, roles, or meanings. Everyone is free to experience them in their own way and find their own connection to them.
In a world that’s becoming faster, louder, and more unpredictable, I want to use my art to create a counter-space—a place where you can pause for a moment, take a deep breath, and find peace. The lightheartedness of my work doesn’t contradict its depth. Both can exist at the same time.
My artistic language is shaped by street art and urban art. For me, they are an expression of our present: free, immediate, and open to people who might never encounter one another in traditional art contexts. This approach releases my monsters onto a wide variety of surfaces as well as into public spaces.
BIOGRAPHY

Fatin Rahmouni is a contemporary artist who lives and works near Lake Constance in Germany. Her distinctive visual language is influenced by street art and urban art and moves from canvas, a wide variety of surfaces, and public spaces.
After studying communication design, Rahmouni initially worked as a graphic designer before devoting herself entirely to her artistic practice. She has been working full-time as an artist for nearly ten years. At the center of her work are her recurring monsters. Color, humor, and an immediate visual presence characterize her work, without assigning fixed personalities or meanings to the figures.
In her work, she combines the directness of urban visual languages with an open and emotional dimension. The result is work that allows for immediate engagement while leaving room for individual perception and interpretation.
Rahmouni’s work has been presented in national and international exhibitions, at art fairs, and in institutional settings, and is held in private collections.
