Albino Koala plays with the uneasy space between cute and strange. Its pale body, wide yellow eyes, black nose and tiny exposed teeth initially suggest a familiar animal, while the exaggerated features quietly disrupt that recognition. The character seems harmless, yet its fixed gaze gives it an oddly watchful presence. Handmade as a functional ceramic mug, the work turns an everyday vessel into an individual character – one that becomes slightly less innocent the longer you look.
